Lars Brünjes is leading work on incentives in Cardano, the means of encouraging people to participate in the protocol and behave in a way that is in the best interests of all users and the system as a whole. Incentives are given in the form of Ada, and users will be able to join stake pools to receive Ada, a reward for taking part in the protocol and helping to ensure its healthy operation. The incentives team includes Professors Aggelos Kiayias and Elias Koutsoupias. In this video Lars introduces his work on incentives, before giving a technical presentation at the Blockchain Mania meetup in Hamburg in April 2018. Lars is Director of Education at IOHK and holds a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics from Regensburg University. After a postdoc year at the University of Cambridge and several years of research and teaching at Regensburg University, he spent 10 years working as a Lead Software Architect on mathematical optimization software and web applications for a large international IT company. He spent many months in India working with Indian development teams and is passionate about functional programming in general and Haskell in particular. https://iohk.io/team/lars-brunjes/ -- See more at: https://iohk.io Get our latest news updates: https://iohk.io/blog/ Meet the team: https://iohk.io/team/ Learn about our projects: https://iohk.io/projects/cardano/ Read our papers: http://iohk.link/paper-ouroboros Visit our library: https://iohk.io/research/library/ In the press: https://iohk.io/press/ Work with us: https://iohk.io/careers/ See more on Cardano: https://iohk.io/projects/cardano/ -- The source for all things Cardano https://www.cardano.org/en/home/ Cardano Blockchain Explorer An open source block explorer for the Cardano project https://cardanoexplorer.com Cardano Documentation Full technical documentation of the project https://cardanodocs.com Cardano Roadmap Development path of the Cardano project https://cardanoroadmap.com
